High Seas Pools & Spas

Maximizing Pool Safety During COVID-19

2020 has thrown us all for a loop! While majority of the world was ill-prepared for COVID-19, the OBX pool industry has made it a point to adapt to necessary safety measures for our pool and spa services.

What are we doing to help protect staff, guests, owners, and vendors from COVID-19 transmission?

  • “Clear the Deck” Policy. High Seas Pools & Spas (HSPS) has instated a new policy requiring all patrons to be clear of the pool and/or spa deck during the entirety of service. This ensures safe social distancing, and allows HSPS to utilize appropriate chemicals and practices to not only clean your water/equipment, but any surface touched by our technicians.
  • Sanitation of Surfaces. Chlorine happens to be one the most used chemicals in pool and spa maintenance. It also happens to be the same chemical that many hospital facilities are sourcing to clean and sanitize areas subject to COVID-19 exposure. We utilize a solution (safe to surfaces) that sanitizes the areas our technician has touched (prior to and after service) such as gates, equipment, switches, etc.
  • Extra Detail on Chemical Checks. We always put 110% effort into chemical checks – now, more than ever! Having a properly balanced pool and/or spa helps kill the transmission of a variety of bacteria and viruses.

As the CDC (Centers for Disease Control) and WHO (World Health Organization) continue to develop solutions and safety precautions for dealing with COVID-19, HSPS will adjust our methods of service as needed. Stay safe swimmers!
